Call Your MoC about Impeaching the Criminal in the WH — Week of Sunday 1 August 2019

The Psy of Life

We are all wanting to impeach the current squatter in the White House. No matter his crimes, we have to save the Resolute Desk from all the uric acid deposited onto it by all the pee-hookers the Ol’ Pussy Grabber is paying to piss on it… and American values.

With a judge slow-walking his tax returns, it is beyond time to openly declare an impeachment proceeding and get the documents and people before him and the American people! We shouldn’t have to explain this to anyone, amirite?

Now 135 House Dems support impeachment. To hear Steve Cohen (D – Tenn) tell it we are beyond impeachment inquiry, we are at impeachment proceedings. On Ari Melber’sThe Beat on MSNBC, he listed his reasons:

  • The Mueller Report cited ten possible instances of obstruction of justice and clearly illustrated that five of them met all three of the criteria.

The Capacity

Wow, truth.

First Draft

You know the responses that come out to a story like this always, because they come out anytime somebody gets hurt/sick and our health care system flattens them: Well why didn’t he … why didn’t she … what if you had …

journeys through the dark woods

Peedeel's Blog

People who’ve never read fairy tales, the professor said, have a harder time coping in life than the people who have. They don’t have access to all the lessons that can be learned from the journeys through the dark woods and the kindness of strangers treated decently, the knowledge that can be gained from the company and example of Donkeyskins and cats wearing boots and steadfast tin soldiers. I’m not talking about in-your-face lessons, but more subtle ones. The kind that seep up from your subconscious and give you moral and humane structures for your life. That teach you how to prevail, and trust. And maybe even love.

The Christian Right is Brainwashing People I Love

A Must Read. Follow the link.

Lucky Otters Haven

Currently, one of my favorite blogs is the progressive Christian pastor John Pavlovitz’ blog Stuff That Needs to Be Said.     There have been so many times I’ve wanted to reblog his wonderful, very readable articles, but alas, his blog features no reblog button.   Therefore, I will just provide the link to his latest.

There is so much truth in his posts.  Every time I read them, I find myself nodding vigorously in agreement.  There is so much I can relate to in them.

The Christian Right has indeed become quite terrifying, as they have weaponized a religion that was intended by its founder to be peaceful and based on love in order to achieve an evil and heartless political agenda based on power and greed.    It has become more like a cult than a religion, but sadly, a lot of people are buying it.

The Christian Right Is…

Elegy to a burning Amazon

Be a witness:

We see you as your rain forest burns
ancient green lungs erupting into flame
we hear your anguished cries
the same ones mass media ignore
we will give a voice to the voiceless

We will be a witness

Greed and eco terrorism rule
trade deals and wealthy landowners
deal in secret handshakes and dirty money
genocide ecocide sabotage corruption and lies
human impact fuels the flames

We will be a witness

This holy green cathedral burns
sacred land and sentient beings fall
billions promised for bricks and mortar
the hypocrisy of government and religion
trying to blind us to the truth

We will be a witness

We each need to look within
reassess our individual greed
reassess our individual need
make change and take account
all living beings equal

We will be a witness

No fear only love
no violence only action
no longer blind we see

Book Report—Who Were the Early Israelites and Where Did They Come From?

Once again, repeat after me, The Bible is a book of MYTH & POETRY. It is most definitely not History.

Class Warfare Blog

This book, Who Were the Early Israelites and Where Did They Come From? by William G. Dever addresses the actual archaeological evidence for the existence and behaviors of the early Israelites. I was drawn to this book by a couple of things that have troubled me regarding the “history” of that region. First, is the escape from bondage in Egypt. The story has been dramatized a great many times, even in movies, and so we are all familiar with the story. In the later 1800’s and early 1900’s “biblical archeologists” swarmed all over the Holy Land to discover all of the evidence for these “historical” events. What they actually found were two things: wish fulfillments and <cricket, cricket, . . .>. There is basically little to no evidence to back up the biblical story of the “escape from Egypt” or the “conquest of Canaan.” But then, over and over again…
