Green Eagle on Afghanistan

This has got to be one of the best posts on Afghanistan I have read this past week.

I would follow this blog but there doesn’t seem to be a “follow” link or a “subscribe” option. I just happened on this via one of the many WordPress blogs that I follow. I know lots of people complain about WordPress, but they do make it easy to follow the blogs in which you have an interest.

Anyway, here’s the link ~~~~> http://largegreenbird.blogspot.com/2021/08/afghanistan.html

READ IT. You won’t be sorry.

Saturday Caturday

I love how the cats can always find a comfy spot. Here’s Radar in between the two pillows on James’ bed. He definitely looks comfortable!

Make Earth Sacred Again

Truth

Uncommon Sense

Note—It is Sunday Sermon Time again, boys and girls! S

The title above is a proposed solution to greedy capitalists processing everything we need to live into profits. The Medium.com post was “Make Earth Sacred Again” with the subtitle “Reverence for Nature could stop Big Money’s destroying the world.” (Note I wish these people would stop saying “destroying the world/planet.” It is us they are destroying, not the world. The world will still be spinning on this same path long after humans are all dead.)

I have to assume that some sort of Native American religion is going to be involved in such an effort, because the dominant religions in the U.S. today don’t seem to possess this attribute.

Devout Christians often do say foolish things like this, “the Earth is sacred; we have the stewardship of the entire planet on our shoulders” and, my favorite “life is sacred.”…

….” either we will liquidate capitalism, or capitalism will liquidate millions of innocent people to continue its barbaric course on a maimed, and perhaps unliveable, planet.”

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group I has presented its Climate Change 2021: Physical Science Basis report as a contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report on climate change, due in early 2022.

The report and its summary are written in the precise style and vocabulary of scientific publications that make ’objective’ statements.

Let’s talk Afghanistan

A fabulous post.

The Mind of Brosephus

C-17 Globemaster III departing Afghanistan

It’s been discussed in the comments for a while, but I think this topic deserves its own sheets. I’m neither a military strategist nor a military historian, but I will offer my own opinion on the current situation there. Whether you agree with me or not is up to you as I’m not telling anyone else how to interpret things. I’m simply offering my personal viewpoint as I see it.

The situation in Afghanistan is fucked up, more accurately, royally fucked up. I’m talking high-speed train derailment into a fully stocked fuel farm in the densest populated neighborhood when everyone’s at home asleep in the middle of the night kinda fucked up. I have always felt we screwed up when we put boots on the ground, and I’ll explain why.

Afghanistan is a tribal country. They’re more about tribal life and concerns than national concerns…

Saturday Caturday

Bobby has been fascinated with the piano every since it arrived a few weeks ago. Usually he sits on top of it but this morning, he looked like he was ready to start playing.
