Chloe’s in heat. For the second time. The first time was two weeks ago & I thought she wouldn’t be in heat again for at least another month. But NO. She’s out of her mind with hormonal urges that she doesn’t know how to control.
She’s rolling all over the floor & dragging herself around. She’s presenting herself to me ~ to Bobby & Radar ~ she presented herself to my laptop yesterday. Talk about being unclear on the concept.

She was all over Radar & Bobby but they are simply confused. Radar won’t put up with it. Bobby, of course, is much more compassionate but now she doesn’t bother with either of them at all. She pesters me. She wakes me up several times a night & is all over me most of the day. She wants her belly rubbed & her rear end rubbed & her head rubbed. & she’s REALLY demanding about it.
She’s got this crying meow & she cries on & on & on.
She’s also licking herself all the time. Which must be really nice. Ya know?

She is also pissing outside of the box. I put extra newspapers on the floor around the box to soak it up so the floor doesn’t smell. I’m changing the papers several times a day. I think she’s leaving her scent to let the boys know she’s available but of course they’re neutered & they could care less.
Thankfully, it’s brutally cold ~ it was minus 1 this morning with a minus 13 wind chill ~ so it’s not like there’s male cats out in the neighborhood. Two weeks ago, I saw large cat tracks in the driveway outside the window where she hangs out. I don’t need her going through the screen. I don’t open the window like I used to. Just a crack so she can smell the air.
When she’s not crazy with hormonal urges, she’s looking out the front window. Rabbits have made a burrow under the middle shrubbery in my front garden & she want one of them. There’s all kinds of sign that they’re there.

I took that picture through the window so it’s kinda fucked up but you can see all the rabbit pellets & the piss on the snow. The shrubbery next to the burrow is totally decimated ~ they’ve eaten all of the lower leaves & are working their way to the top. I plan to pull out the shrubs in the spring & put in flowers. I’m not a shrubbery person anyway. I like flowers.
But ~ sometimes she sleeps. & she sleeps HARD.
Anyway ~ I called the vet & she’s going in for blood work on the 17th & being spayed on the 24th. So this drama will soon end.
As I’m writing this, she’s crying in the next room. She jumped up on my desk & wants my attention. So I guess I gotta go.
